I started this show because of the height difference. I really like the height difference of the couple. 158 vs 188. Super adorable. HEHEHHEHE
Brief overview of the drama: Cong Rong (portrayed by Xing Fei) and Wen Shaoqing (portrayed by Tang Shao Tian) were childhood friends and were separated when Cong Rong had to leave. Now watch the sparks fly as Cong Rong came back from Melbourne to intern in a law firm and Wen Shaoqing meeting her again as colleagues and neighbors.
What so awesome about it: Everything. I loved this drama.
First and foremost, The KISSES. They have the best kisses and so many of them. Tang Shao Tian is such a good kisser, period. (see the video from Youtube as evidence)
And the plot was so awesome. The whole drama was just about how Wen Shaoqing get Cong Rong and how they dated. Wen Shaoqing was so good at flirting with Cong Rong, the speech and actions were all so smooth, without any forms of cringey-ness. It also helps that he is super good looking, successful as a young professor in the Neurosurgeon department, cooks well, and is also conveniently very rich. A perfect and flawless boyfriend.
As a female I thoroughly enjoyed the drama. He is a perfect boyfriend, and so romantic too.
The side characters were very adorable and cute too. Zhong Shen (Cong Rong's younger cousin, portrayed by Fu Wei Lun) should train as a match maker instead of a doctor. He also becomes the kid in the relationship where if the daddy and mummy has a falling out, the kid need to choose side and also needs to be the bridge, though this results in a lot of copying of medical text and redoing of his thesis hahaha.
The secondary leads Wen Rang (Wen Shaoqing's uncle, portrayed by Li Chuan) and Zhou Chenchen (portrayed by Huang Yi Lin) was also very sweet couple, both trying to find meaning and direction in life. Wen Rang dialogues also made this drama very poetic and nice.
On a side note, the drama was adapted from the book of the same name 你是我的小确幸. While the gist of the book and drama is similar there are pretty big differences. For 1, Cong Rong was actually a successful lawyer in the book, older and cooler. So both Cong Rong and Wen Shaoqing felt more equal and both are equally 腹黑(evil), so the book felt a little more balanced, while the drama was clearly more tilted towards the female audiences with such a perfect male lead and an imperfect female.
My little happiness is from the same direction as a love so beautiful, (another drama with a height difference), which has the same great directing and acting. Its light, and easy to watch without all the nonsense. After knowing both the dramas were from the same directors it was easy to tell the similarities such as no evil second male/female lead. No terrible dubbing, both drama used the characters own voice!! and super adorable height difference!
Recommends: YES! for something super super sweet and to bring back hope for all mankind/ singletons out there who have lost all hope in dating and there is good kissing too. Also helps if you understand Mandrin as well, because a lot of the dialogues were very well written which gets lost in translation.
If a man like Wen Shaoqing chased me like he did in the drama. I would fall for him too, no questions asked. He is perfect, and maybe I should watch less drama like this else, its detrimental to my expectations in a guy. Hehehe.
PS. And I like the chemistry between Wen Shaoqing and Cong Rong a lot more than Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi (From the drama Put your head on my shoulder)
Last one for the height difference, Cong Rong having to wear heels and stand on props to be in the same frame as Wen Shaoqing.
