Brief
overview of the drama:
Chen Xiaoqian (aka Chen Qian Qian
in the later part of the story), a young screenwriter was trapped in her
own script based on historical China. With her character meant to die early in
the story, she has to overcome all means to try and survive.
What so awesome about it:
The story plot is very refreshing.
A writer who fell into her own drama, after she was told her writing is
terrible. (And then experiences the drama herself) It’s refreshing to see a
drama where the female lead is so empowered and tries all ways to continue to
be in control. It helps she wrote the drama and understands the personalities
of all the people in the drama (as it is written by her). But things still go
as unplanned, and she tries all method to try and survive. It's always
hilarious when Qian Qian complains about the story that she wrote, like how
lousy and how she tries to make use of the plots she written, but then
backfires against her.
I
love a good drama with a (super adorable) jealous male lead. Han Shou
(portrayed by Ding Yu Xi, super cute with humongous puppy eyes). Because Qian
Qian is so convinced Han Shou is the male lead and the OTP with Chen ChuChu,
She tries all means to push Han Shou to Chu Chu, (ft a completely upset Han
Shou and she becomes jealous herself HAHA). While completely oblivious that the
male lead is super in love with her, and she is the female lead hahaha.
Also must mention the setup of the
countries was very interesting and comes with lots of laughter. With HuaYuan
City, a matriarchal society where women run the city. The roles of men and
women are switched. Especially when the leaders of both countries are kidnapped
and have to be placed in the same area, the conversation with regards to the
children and who should lead which countries were really hilarious.
Special shout out to the servants
Zi Rui and Bai Ji. They were the icing on the cake. They were like the fans of
the drama, voicing out my desires for the couple hahahaha.
Recommends:
YES! If you are looking for something light and easy to watch and laugh. And a relationship between oranges and bananas and peaches and apples hahahaha
The
pace of the plot was very fast, at 24 episodes and about 40 mins of watching
for each episode. (Given that most C-drama I have watched is about 30+
episodes.
